Einfach 002 - Lemany / Mologo (December, 2008)

Last December, an unknown genius released a rework of Nina Simone's classic "See Line Woman". The unofficial 12" was limited to 100 copies and brings on the flipside a remix of Moloko's "Sing It Back" which is not bad, but you should stick to Nina's track, an amazing and percussive 11-minute journey.

Rumour has it that the responsible for this second single of the "Einfach" series might be Reboot or Pitto. Whoever it was, I just have to say a big thank you!

(Vi primeiro no fotolog do Strapazzolli)

Don't even think of giving it a go if you are expecting something dance-floor oriented. However, if you're up to eight refined, acoustic, laid back, psychedelic and sort of cerebral tunes with a touch of "world music" (whatever that means) and of folk, "II", the forthcoming album of Nordic duo Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas, is going to be an absolutely delightful journey.

To be released in May by Eskimo.

(I saw it first on Strapazzolli's fotolog).

Solid Bump Records - Pleasure & Pressure

O Boogie Central agradece!

Veja o disco-mercial fofo do EP no Youtube e garanta sua cópia no Beatport!

P.S.: Parece que vem aí um edit absurdo do Laberge para "Give Me Your Love", da Sylvia Striplin, então fiquem ligados!

Jonty Skrufff for download

Aliás, a nova faixa dele toca a partir do trigésimo minuto, "Dark Destroyer". Confira!

Another suggestion of a good set for download: my dear friend Jonty Skrufff (UK) has mixed one hour of techno and electro. Btw, his new track plays at the 30th minute, "Dark Destroyer". Energy, skills, feeling and good surprises: those who have seen Jonty on the decks know what I'm talking about. Check it out!

Stephanie Mills - You Can't Run From My Love

OK, ela tem "Put Your Body In It", "Sweet Sensation", "The Medicine Song" e "Never Knew Love Like This Before", todas fantásticas, mas a melhor faixa de Stephanie Mills na minha opinião é "You Can't Run From My Love" (1983), produzida por James Mtume e Reggie Lucas. Aqui está a versão 12".

Keep it in the family!

But that's not all: Geraldine composed a sexy and funky gem called "Murphy's Law" for her daughter Rosalind Hunt's act Cheri, possibly inspired by Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely", and produced it with her son Freddie James, who also had a great record when he was only 14: "Get Up And Boogie" (nothing to do with Silver Convetion's song).

Escort is back!

- Zombi "Sapphire", em um single que recupera um espetacular e obscuro híbrido de space rock e electro lançado em 2006;

frontmen Dan Balis and Eugene Cho are back with two superb remixes:

- Zombi "Sapphire", in a single which recaptures a spectacular and obscure space rock and electro hibrid released in 2006;

Nice job, guys! But don't forget that we are looking forward to having Escort's full-length album in our hands! :-)

Diga Rhythm Band, "Sweet Sixteen"

In 1976, Grateful Dead's drummer Mickey Hart released the album "Diga", of his side project Diga Rhythm Band. A result of his studies and experiments with Indian music, culture and musicians, the record features the astonishing "Sweet Sixteen".

According to Peter Shapiro's book "Turn The Beat Around: The Secret History Of Disco", "Sweet Sixteen" was one of the strangest and most remarkable records played at David Mancuso's Loft. Extremely experimental, it seems a lullaby full of marimbas and vibes and used to bring the happy and lucky crowd to tears at Mancuso's home-club.

Daniel Wang @ Vegas 07/03/09

Mike Mareen "Dancing In The Dark" (1985), Player One "Space Invaders" (1979), Chic "My Feet Keep Dancing" (1979), Exposé "Point Of No Return" (1985), Madonna "Spotlight" (1986), Donna Summer "This Time I Know It's For Real" (1989) e Cathy Dennis "Just Another Dream" (1990) foram algumas das faixas que passaram pelos decks do Vegas, todas com suas respectivas capas expostas ao público, porque o que ele quer mesmo é compartilhar seu maior tesouro com todos.

Sheree Brown "You'll Be Dancing All Night"

Amigos,

You'll Be Dancing All Night".

BOOGIE!!

Bjs,
Benja

Friends,

My first post here. I'll be back later with more information about the blog, but as the subject is music, here's a singer I've just been introduced to by my friend Lorenda: Sheree Brown, who released two albums on Capitol Records in the early 80s, one of them - Straight Ahead (1981) - with the highly addictive "You'll Be Dancing All Night".

BOOGIE!!

Cheers,
Benja

P.S.: My sincere thanks and love for those who encouraged me to open this blog, especially its godparents, Camilo Rocha, Jamille Pinheiro and Jonty Skrufff.
